Coaching for the volley-obsessed player with the drive to match — you grind reps, break down film, and show up daily, but it hasn't clicked yet. The fix isn't more grinding. It's a system for maximizing your skills and learning to compete intelligently.
You don't need convincing that you can be good. You need someone to tell you the truth about what's holding you back by shining a light on your blindspots.
As both a coach and a competitor, I guide from every angle. The coach in me trains the visible game — strategy, technique, and preparation. The athlete in me trains the unseen — the mindset, identity, self-talk and mental game. You're not one-dimensional, and your coaching shouldn't be either.
Opponents' tendencies, angles, and habits — so you're moving early instead of reacting late.
An honest map of what's actually costing you points. Not a generic checklist — the two or three things that matter for you.
Systems and tactics that turn your weapons into kills, digs, and better tournament finishes.
I don't do this on purpose — I do it because I can't help it. Movement is in my code (volleyball, drums, dancing, never sitting still), and after 20 years of trying to dodge the urge to coach, I gave up and leaned all the way in. Playing keeps me honest. Coaching is the part I was never going to escape. You get the full force of both.
Beach volleyball has a mold it expects a good player to fit, and I don't. I never let that box define me. Instead of forcing myself into it, I took shape as the player I was built to be — athletic, skilled, and relentless about the details that turn into results.
Allow yourself to take shape.
That's the idea at the center of how I coach. You weren't made to fit someone else's mold, and neither is your game. So don't shove yourself into a box — build around your own instincts and strengths, then get relentless about it.
I've spent time inside a national-team environment as an assistant coach with Team Canada during the Tokyo Olympic cycle, and I coach for MBSand, a 20-time national champion club. I work with players across every level — from weekend warriors to athletes chasing international medals. I'm driven by helping others pursue their passions.
Let me help you pursue yours.
Every part of the game is on the table:
But the thing I'm known for is reading opponents — their directional tendencies, how they move, where they like the ball, and the angles that opens up for you.
Built to stack — each tier includes everything below it. Most players start with a Brain Pick or a Film Review, then go deeper once they see how I think.
